About our Owner
Advanced Building & Construction Management is proudly 100% woman-owned, founded in September 2021 by April Backus, a passionate and driven construction professional with over a decade of experience in the commercial construction industry across Greater Boston.
April didn’t just find a career in construction—she found her calling. From the earliest days on job sites to leading complex commercial builds, she developed a deep appreciation for the craft, the coordination, and the people who make it all happen. Her journey through the industry gave her firsthand knowledge of every role—from laborer to project manager to owner—which now fuels her unique and powerful approach to construction management.
April founded Advanced Building & Construction Management with one goal: to offer a service that’s honest, high-quality, relationship-driven, and completely transparent. Her reputation is built on trust, integrity, and respect, and she continues to foster long-lasting relationships with clients, subcontractors, and design professionals who share those values.
